We understand that every child and family is different and we use our experience to help make the transition into nursery as comfortable and positive as possible for everyone.
Your child will be invited to attend four free settling-in sessions at the nursery. These sessions are designated to help your child become familiar with the environment, staff and daily routine in a gentle and supportive way.
The first settling-in session usually last 30 min. with the chance for the parents to attend the session. This gives you and your child the opportunity to meet the staff and begin building a relationship.
The second settling-in session lasts 1hr. On arrival, your child will be welcomed by the practitioners and provided with toys and activities suited to their interests. Your child will have opportunity to take part in nursery activities and start getting to know other children.
The third settling-in session is 2hrs. This session allow your child to experience snack and nappy change routine while continuing to explore the room and the activities and to build relationship with children and staff.
Parents will drop off at the nursery door so the session reflects a typical nursery day.
The fourth settling-in session gives your child the opportunity to experiment a typical nursery lunch time routine, including handwashing, sitting together at the table and enjoying a meal with their peers.
Staff will support your child in becoming familiar with the nursery routine and encourage independence where appropriate.
Parents will drop off at the nursery door as they would on a normal nursery day.
These sessions are free and flexible and are usually arranged during the week before your child's start date so that the experience remains fresh in their memory.

Our experience shows that assigning each child a dedicated KEY PERSON is the best way to help them feel safe, secure, and confident in the nursery environment while observing their progress.
