Parents can apply for funded childcare through the government childcare service.
Applications can be made up to 16 weeks before your child becomes eligible for funding.
Funded hours start from the term following your child's qualifying birthday, which will be one of the following terms:
- January
- April
- September
To access funded childcare, parents must complete and return a funding declaration form each year. This authorises our nursery to check eligibility and claim funding on your behalf.
Parents are required to reconfirm their eligibility with HMRC every three months. If eligibility is not reconfirmed in time, funded hours may be temporarily suspended until confirmation is received.
To support children's learning and development, we generally ask families accessing funded childcare to attend a minimum number of days per week.
- Children accessing 15 hours funding are normally required to attend at least 2 days per week.
- Children accessing 30 hours funding are usually required to attend at least 3 days per week.
Families who choose a funded-hours-only place (without purchasing additional hours) may attend nursery for the following sessions:
15 Hours funding over 38 weeks
30 hours funding over 38 weeks
11 hours per week over 51 weeks
22 hours per week over 51 weeks
1 day per week + 1 additional day per term
2 days per week + 2 additional days per term
